Samhain Incense Blend
Samhain Incense Blend
When the veil thins and the dead return to us, when the shadows flicker at every turn and fae ride into the night, we know Samhain is upon us. It may leave some of us vulnerable; it may leave some of us wanting. The desire to connect to the dead during this celtic fire festival is not uncommon, which is why the herbal constituents of this blend open the mind to veil travel (sometimes known as hedge jumping) and protect the user from psychic attack at the same time. Each bag additionally contains a small animal bone, yet another connection to to invigorate the magic from the other side of the hedge. May you travel safely, friend.
This traditional loose incense has a deep, primal scent reminiscent of hearty fall meals, cold nights, harvested fields and burning hearths.
What you can use your blend for:
Burn as incense on a charcoal tab
Burn in ritual fire
Keep in a bowl as potpourri
Sprinkled about your home as a Floor Sweep
Poppets, Mojo Bags or Spell Sachets
Candle Dressing
....and so much more!
Loose incense is the purest form of herbal burning, as its constituents are just that… herbs. No saltpeter, no quickstart, no unnatural inflammatories. Mountain Hedgewitch recommends using bamboo charcoal with this incense, as it burns the purest to match the incense itself; also, adding a small amount of honey to the blend will make it easier to bind the herbs and keep them together while they burn atop the charcoal.
